1) What do you enjoy most about working at FoodStorm?

I love our team vibe, that is what I enjoy the most. The genuine spirit of the entire team allows me to learn and grow, ask for help whenever I need and work collaboratively on projects. We’re doing serious things during work, but we never lose our laughs and joy. My opinions are respected and my contributions are valued, people are encouraged to speak up and to debate. I’m always encouraged by the positive and can-do attitude from everyone in the team.

Each team member has the autonomy to help with decision making; all of our initiatives, roadmaps, and company goals are communicated across the team. This transparency helps us stay productive and makes me feel that I’m making a real impact on the business. Without a doubt, even as a relatively small team, we definitely play an important role in our industry.

2) Where do you see the catering industry & catering technology going in the future?

Before I joined the team, I had some experience in the retail world, but had little knowledge of the catering industry. After I stepped into the business, I started to better understand what our clients are doing and how they use our products, and what benefits they get from us. I then understand more about how catering technology can change people’s lives in the catering industry.

From corporate events like conferences, trainings and celebrations, to special events like weddings, parties, even to our daily life like food ordering, catering services play an important role in our lives. The global pandemic recently helped facilitate the digital transformation of this industry and has changed the way caterers provide their services to customers and this also brings opportunities for catering technologies to grow. There're a lot of things we are doing now that I’ve been excited to see the real impacts of and there's a lot we can do in the future that I’m really looking forward to!

3) Tell us about your background that led to you joining the FoodStorm team:

After finishing my university studies, I started my career as a software engineer. What I enjoy most about being in the tech world is that I can learn different things in different industries which opens my eyes and sharpens my skills. I had some experiences before in areas like accounting, SMSF, e-commerce and retail. Then I came across FoodStorm in the catering industry and the team attracted me so much, and I believe this is where I want to be and make a difference together with the team.

4) What are the values that drive you?

Diversity and community. I’d love to work with people from different backgrounds and I believe differences make us better as long as we accept them and understand how we are alike and how we are different, and treat each other with respect and understanding. This will always lead to a better community.

5) How would you describe FoodStorm in 1 word?

Assertive

6) The best piece of advice I’ve been given was...

From my father about 3 don’ts: don’t be inconstant, don’t give up easily and don’t worry too much about gains and losses.

7) Cat-person or dog-person?

I love both! But I became more like a cat-person after I raised a little ginger cat, who accompanies me all the time. I’m also expecting a Shiba Inu in the near future, that might drive me to a dog-person :)

8) What’s your favorite way to spend time off?

Riding a bike along the beach, or around the neighborhood, or down the hills; I enjoy the feeling of a breath of fresh air and relaxing.

9) What are you currently playing, reading, watching or listening to?

I’m recently getting addicted to a video game on Switch called Overcooked, you cannot imagine how many laughs and arguments me and my partner have every night after dinner. If you want an idea for your next party with friends, I highly recommend this game!

10) What’s next on your bucket list?

A night out in Bangkok! To discover a place that I’ve never been to is always fantastic.
